“Beauty and the Beast” (Live-Action) Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing  Beauty and the Beast. This is the 2017 live-action version from Disney.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

I watched the original the night before i saw this and i was very glad i did. It was nice to be able to compare them.

Emma Watson did a great job as Belle. I love all of the other casting as well.

Auto-tuning on Belle was eh.

Like i said in the review of the original, my favorite songs are “A Tale as Old as Time,” “Be Our Guest,” Belle (Reprise),” and “Gaston.”

I love the talking furniture so much. I think my favorite is the candlestick, but i’m not sure.

I like having the backstory of Belle’s mom, but at the same time it seemed pretty useless.

A lot of the scenes i think were to stretched out. They made the movie much longer than it should have been. They also added quite a few of unnecessary scenes. Some of the scenes were also maybe overdone.

I love the dancing scene.

I love all of Belle’s outfits. I think my favorite was the white dress with the flowers on it which she wore in the ending scene.

I like how Agatha was involved in this version of the movie. What i did not understand was how the Beast came back to life. In the original it was timed differently so he had not officially died yet. I don’t know. I guess just magic?

The! Visuals! Are! So! Great!

Overall, i rate this movie a 4.7/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Beauty and the Beast or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Beauty and the Beast” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Beauty and the Beast. This is the 1991 animated version from Disney.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

I have seen this movie once before, but i had remembered nothing about it. This is the first one of the princess movies i have ever seen.

Just a few questions, why does Belle like the beast after he kidnapped her? And, why is Chip the only cup that comes out of the cupboard?

My favorite songs are “A Tale as Old as Time,” “Be Our Guest,” Belle (Reprise),” and “Gaston.”

I do not have much else to say. I love the animation, music, story, and pretty much everything.

Overall, i rate this movie a 5/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Beauty and the Beast or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. This is the 6/8 of the movie series. They are based after the books of the same name.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

This is my first time watching the series. When i watched the first movie i did not have this blog, so i did not review it. And once i did have the blog i thought that i would review them all together once i have seen them all. But now i have decided that the should all be reviewed separately, even if that means i have to start with the 6th movie and make my way back around.

I know that movies are different from the books for good reasons. Movie adaptations usually exaggerate the way they were the in the books, or change a lot of things.  Although i understand why it is done, i do not like it. And not only did they slightly change how things were done, or leave some parts out, they ADDED NEW SCENES. I disapprove.

What was that opening scene about? Harry at the diner? What point did that serve? I assume they just had to add 4 more minutes into the movie length.

And more importantly, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BURROW? WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT BURNED DOWN? That is a HUGE thing to change from book to movie. I don’t understand how this was even allowed.

Of course like all book to movie adaptations, they up-played the romance. I really don’t like how this was done, since the story isn’t about who Harry likes. I enjoyed the romance in the book because it was subtle. It seemed like that was what the whole movie what was about. I disapprove about this as well.

I love the scenes where Harry is using the Felix Felicis.

I love Dumbledore so much.

This movie just reminds me how much i hate Bellatrix. I have never hated any single person more than i hate her. I hope she has the worst death imaginable.

Overall, if i am rating this in comparison to the book, it is a 2.5/5 stars. If i a rating it by itself, it is a 3.3/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Divergent” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Divergent. This is the movie adaptation of a book by the same name. It follows Tris,a girl who has to choose the rest of her life by picking her faction. There are five factions, each representing something different.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

For some reason this movie took me like 2 months to watch fully. I kept getting bored and turning it off. I could not get through it in one (or five) sittings.

Ii like the introduction. It very well showed each of the five factions and what they represent. i enjoyed watching each faction on the screen.

I really like the main actor, Shailey Woodley. I have seen her in many things before and she is very good.

I didn’t like Christina in the movie. In the books she was a good character, but they changed her in the movie. I don’t know exactly how but she is different.

Will was a big character in the book, but he didn’t seem like he was in the movie. He didn’t have that much to do with the plot or have many lines. I wish he did since he is one of my favorites.

I do not really like the relationship of Tris and Four. Their both fine, but i didn’t really see much of connection between them. They just kind of were suddenly together. This happened both in the movie and the book.

I really hate how movies dramatize everything that happened in the book. If someone had a slight relationship in the book, they fall madly in love and get married in the movie. If one person gets killed in the book, ten people get killed in the movie. It really overdid the action and shooting.

Will, Al, and Peter all look the same. They all had same skin, hair, and eye color. They also were all the same height and weight. Will and Al even had the exact same hairstyle. It was very difficult to keep track of them.

During most of the movie i think it was pretty good to the book. Of course there were things they changed, but that will happen with every book to movie adaptation. Overall i think it was pretty similar to the novel.

Overall, i rate this movie a 1.2/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Divergent or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Big Eyes” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Big Eyes. This is a movie about Margaret and Walter Keane.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

I heard of this movie through the director, Tim Burton. Tim Burton is my all time favorite director and has made many of my favorite movies such as Corpse Bride and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. I was surprised to find out that he had directed a movie with real people based on a real story, other than animated and fictional movies.

I really enjoy seeing movies that are based on or about true stories/events. I like learning about things while be entertained, which is why i like the musical Hamilton so much.

I really enjoy the old vibe of the film. It was made in 2014 so it had modern technology and cameras so it looked very nice, but it took place in the 50s.

When i saw the trailer of the movie i thought it was going to be different than it was. I thought that Walter was going to steal her work in a terrible way right off the start. But i found out that he got credit for her work at first by accident, and he only slowly became a horrible person.

I liked when Margaret saw people with their eyes like her paintings. I could tell this was Tim Burton’s touch.

Overall, i rate this movie a 3.2/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Big Eyes or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Jiro Dreams Of Sushi” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Jiro Dreams Of Sushi. This is a documentary about the owner/head chef of a 3 star Michelin sushi restaurant in Japan.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

I did not enjoy the violence towards the fish. But whatever.

I have seen a few episodes of Chef’s Table and now this movie. I really enjoy learning about the Michelin restaurants and how they are so much different from regular ones.

This movie was in Japanese, so i had watched it with English subtitles. I have seen a couple anime’s so i have some experience watching things like this, but i know why i don’t watch more anime. It is hard to always be watching your screen for every word they are saying.

Good overall.

Overall, i rate this movie a 2/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review.  Leave a comment on your take on Jiro Dreams Of Sushi or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“La La Land” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing La La Land. This movie is about Mia and Sebastian, two people living in LA who want to become successful musicians/actors.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

This movie came out in late 2016 and was named the best film of the year. It has gotten many awards and nominations, and it seems to be a giant hit.

Going into the movie i didn’t know it was a musical. I knew it was about a musician and had to do with music, but i didn’t know it was what it was.

I am not a big fan of music or singing. I do like jazz, so hearing that was very nice. I also liked a few of the piano songs. City of Stars was my favorite. But the rest i didn’t really think much of.

I don’t know when this took place. They had smart phones and modern technology, but it just had a whole vibe of the 40’s or something. I really liked this old feeling, but i don’t know if it even takes place back then.

Another thing i was confused about is if this takes place in the “real world” or a magic world. I guess it is some sort of mixture of both. I sort of liked this, but it also was very confusing. They were flying and freezing time and seeing the future, but was it even happening? Were they imagining this?

I love all of the bright colors. At the beginning of the film, the four roommates were all wearing bright colorful dresses. Many times throughout the movie there were just lots of colorful things and shapes.

A lot of the time i had no idea what was happening. Whenever the screen blacked out and they starting singing/playing piano, was this really happening?  Were they imagining that they were performing or was it actually going on?

All though it was sort of saddening at the end, im glad it happened this way. This movie finally shows people that stop their relationship so they can continue their career. Too much of the time the couples quit their dreams for eachother, and that’s horrible.

The actors were great.

The movie was very funny.

Overall, i rate this movie a 3.5/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on La La Land or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!
