“Arrival” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Arrival. This movie is about a woman who is chosen to help learn the language of aliens that have landed on Earth in multiple areas.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

I love the aliens of this movie. Throughout the whole film i just wanted to meet them and be their friend. They seemed like the nicest things ever. I also liked their names, Abott and Costello.

I did not quite enjoy the future of Amy’s life. Her husband was going to leave her and her daughter was going to die. It got better as the movie went on but i do wish it was sort of different.

I wish the ending was slightly less saddening. Yes, her and Ian realize that they are going to get married in the future and have a child, but why the violin music playing as they see their child growing up and dying for such a long time? It was okay at first but went on a bit too long.

I really like the way the aliens wrote. I like the many different types of circles and all the small ways they change. I also really like how they can use their own writing to ask them questions, by creating a sentence on a screen and showing them.

I like how the aliens said they need help from humanity in 3,000 years. The people i saw the movie with thought this was confusing, but i disagree. They came to Earth to show humanity how to see the future, so they know how to help them when the problem comes in 3,000 years.

Overall, i rate this movie a 3.5/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review. Leave a comment on your take on Arrival or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. This movie takes place in the Wizarding World before Harry Potter. The main character is Newt Scamander, an English wizard visiting in New York.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

Newt Scamander was a very good character. I enjoyed seeing his love and interest in magical creatures. I related to him because if i was in the Wizarding World, the creatures would be my favorite thing as well.

Tina on the other hand, i did not enjoy at all. She was my least favorite character. I was glad they did not end up in a romantic relationship in this movie, but i can see they are probably going to be in the next 4 movies. Tina was the one in the first place that turned Newt in and told the President about his creatures. I cannot understand why Newt would still like her after that.

Queenie was good character. I enjoyed her ability of mind reading and thought it was very funny when people would say to her “would you please stop reading my mind for a second?”

Jacob was one of my favorites. I really enjoyed having a no-maj in the film and thought it was very funny to see his reactions to different parts of the magic world. I was very sad at the end when he had to be obliviated. I wish they could have not, but i guess it was for the best. i at least hope he is in the next films of this series.

I am glad that JK Rowling wrote the script of this movie. It makes it a lot more special since it wasn’t just some random guy that wrote it, it was the person that wrote the book.

The special effects and acting were incredible.

I really love the creatures of the movie. My top three favorites are the niffler, the bowtruckle, and the demiguise. These were all very cute and cool creatures.

One of my favorite parts about this movie was the comedy element. It was very subtle but very funny. I really liked the part when Queenie said “Ilvermorny is the best magic school i the world!” And Newt replied with “I thought Hogwarts was he best magic school in the world.” Which of course is true.

Overall, i rate this movie a 5/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review.  Leave a comment on your take on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“The Nightmare On Elm Street” Review

Hello! Today i am going to be reviewing The Nightmare On Elm Street. This movie came out in 1984. This movie is about kids that have Freddy Krueger come to them in their dreams. Eventually he comes into the waking world, and starts to kill the kids one by one.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

For the characters of this movie, my opinions are quite mixed. Rod and Marge (two supporting leads) are characters that i hate. They just seem like bad people (especially Rod) and i am sure lots of other people share this opinion as well. Glenn (supporting lead) was a good character. He was mostly there for Nancy until the end of course, and at least somewhat listened to Nancy when most people thought she was insane. And Nancy (protagonist)  was my favorite. She was the one that saved the day and was strong enough to conquer Freddy.

Since this movie didn’t have ghosts and other things that require lots of special effects, it was quite believable. Back in the time this movie was made special effects weren’t the greatest and weren’t believable. Since this one didn’t need many special effects, it was very believable.I enjoyed that element.

For many reasons, this movie is just very good. It is entertaining and scary. The characters are good, the concept of Freddy and the dreams is very cool, and it is just overall very good.

Overall, i rate this movie a 4.5/5 stars.

Anyway, that will be the end of my review. Thank you for reading and make sure to follow my blog to get notified when i post a new review.  Leave a comment on your take on The Nightmare On Elm Street or leave a requested movie for me to review. Bye!

“Psycho” Review

Hello! Today I am going to be reviewing Psycho.  This movie came out in 1960. This film is about a lady that goes to stay at the Bates Motel, run by Norman Bates.

Warning- This review does not include extreme spoilers and I try not to include any,but if you hate being told anything about the movie besides the plot, I recommend to stop reading. If not, enjoy!

At first i was turned away from this movie because it was in black and white. I hope i stop feeling that way since some black and white movies are actually quite good. But it does make it less enjoyable since you can obviously not see any color.

I put the subtitles on while watching, and this helped a lot. The sound was fine, but i definitely would have not been able to understand a lot of it without the subtitles. I think i will start putting them on for everything i watch.

I was very happy with this movie overall. I really liked the plot twist part and thought it was quite creepy. Since there are no special effects used, it was quite believable. Since people were not advanced with that type of stuff in the 60s, it wouldn’t have been very good if they were used.

Overall, i rate this movie a 3/5 stars.
